Enormes Stramonita haemastoma, quoiqu' il y est plus gros (100 mm.) mais d' aspect gérontique, venant de Corse et d' une ancienne collection (Jean Vilain). Un site Italien dit: Stramonita haemastoma canaliculata (Gray, J.E., 1839) pour des coquilles semblables trouvées à Bonifacio. Mais Stramonita haemastoma canaliculata est du Golfe du Mexique ! Pour des spécimens de cette taille il paraît curieux que la bouche paraisse ''juvénile''. Le plus gros a une ouverture tout à fait classique (orange). Taille: 81, 69, 66 et 55 mm.
Huge Stramonita haemastoma, but there is larger (100 mm) in gerontic appearance, from Corsica and of an old collection (Jean Vilain). An Italian site said Stramonita haemastoma canaliculata (Gray, ME, 1839) for similar shells found in Bonifacio. But Stramonita haemastoma canaliculata is from eastern Gulf of Mexico!!! For samples of this size it seems odd that the mouth appears ''juvenile''. The largest has an opening entirely conventional (orange). Size: 81, 69, 66 and 55 mm.
